Wave-Piercing Hull

A 14m catamaran architecture optimized for the steep volcanic slopes and deep waters of Madeira's offshore regions.

Catamaran Length

Maximum stability and hydrodynamic efficiency through a dual-hull wave-piercing design optimized for offshore operations.

Built from the waterline up

A Hull Designed for the Atlantic

The ECOMAR catamaran is not a converted recreational vessel — it is a purpose-built autonomous platform. Every centimeter of its 14-meter length, 6-meter beam and 18-ton displacement has been calculated to perform reliably in the chaotic seas off the southern Madeira coast. The wave-piercing geometry slices through swells instead of climbing them, dramatically reducing energy loss and motion sickness for sensitive payloads such as MBES sensors.

Catamaran Architecture

Dual-hull configuration for unmatched offshore stability.

  • Twin slender hulls reduce roll motion by up to 70% compared to monohulls
  • Wide deck platform creates space for robotic systems and sensor arrays
  • Reduced wetted surface area lowers fuel consumption during transit
  • Inherent redundancy: one hull damaged, the vessel still floats
What this hull delivers as a platform
